TOPIC LECUTURE:
Intro to Theory Debate Lecture
Pravith Munipalle will be giving an Introduction to Theory Debate Lecture on May 24th at 7 PM CST.
Pravith is a rising senior at Flower Mound High School, where he has accumulated 5 bids to the Tournament of Champions and has been consistently ranked in the top twenty, breaking to deep elimination rounds at Glenbrooks, Blake, Berkeley, UT, Churchill, Hockaday, Grapevine, and many more. Additionally, Pravith has also been invited to the California Round Robin. At Outreach Debate, Pravith has previously served as a Camp Instructor, where he was able to provide tailored 1:1 instruction for hundreds of international Speech & Debate students. Pravith has a deep fascination with progressive debate and he is excited to share his love for it with the community!

Lawand Muhsen hosted an Intro to World Schools Debate Lecture on February 15th at 6 PM CST, representing the first part of Outreach Debate’s World Schools Debate Series.
Lawand is a junior at Auburn Senior High School in Washington, where he competes in World Schools Debate, Congressional Debate, Extemporaneous Speaking, and multiple other Speech events, and was a member of the WSDEP Team. He is a 2x NSDA Nationals Qualifier and 2x Washington State Qualifier in World Schools Debate. He has also championed the Washington State Tournament. Lawand currently serves as our Director of Branches, where he is excited to continue furthering Outreach Debate’s mission to make debate accessible to all regardless of geographic location or socioeconomic status. In his free time, he enjoys reading, learning about cars, and hanging out with friends.
Oliver Alferness hosted a Framing Lecture on March 2 at 6 PM PST, representing the first part of Outreach Debate’s Progressive Debate Series, and a K Lecture on March 15 at 6 PM PST, representing the second part of Outreach Debate’s Progressive Debate Series.
Oliver is a junior at the Nueva School. He’s competed in Public Forum since his freshman year, won the Peach State Classic, UKSO, and Minneapple, and acquired 11 bids to the TOC! He’s always excited to talk about philosophy and critical literature. Oliver currently serves as Outreach Debate's Director of Public Forum Resources, where he is excited to continue furthering Outreach Debate’s mission to make debate accessible to all by creating comprehensive and accessible resources. In his free time, Oliver is involved in theatre, run track, and try to stay engaged in my community!

Bashir Eltyeb hosted a Framework, Performance, and Theory vs. K Lecture at 6 PM CST on March 22nd, representing the third part of Outreach Debate’s Progressive Debate Series.
Bashir is a senior at Iowa City West. He’s competed in Public Forum for the last two years, acquiring 9 bids to the TOC. He has won Badgerland (2024), semifinaled the Gold Tournament of Champions, Mid America Cup, Badgerland (2023), and the California Fullerton State Invitational, and has quarterfinals the John Edie Invitational Hosted by the Blake School and Apple Valley. This success has led to him being ranked as high as second in the nation. Bashir has previously served as an Outreach Debate Camp Director & Instructor and as the Iowa Branch Director. He is excited to continue furthering Outreach Debate’s mission to make more debate accessible to all and looks forward to working with everyone!

Nathan Lee and Adonay Mahatsente hosted a Weighing Lecture at 8 PM CST on March 22nd, representing the first part of Outreach Debate’s Fundamentals Debate Series.
Nathan is a junior at Northridge High School and has competed in PF for 6 years. He is the #1 ranked debater in Alabama and has qualified to NSDA Nationals and won the Alabama State Championships three times respectively. He finaled the Northwestern Invitational and has broken to elimination rounds at multiple national circuit tournaments including Stanford, Marist, UMichigan, and DSD1. Nathan specializes in substance and lay debate and loves giving back to his community! Adonay Mahatsente is a senior at Northridge High School and has competed in PF for 7 years. He is the #2 ranked debater in Alabama and has qualified to NSDA Nationals three times and won the Alabama State Championships twice. He has broken to elimination rounds at multiple national circuit tournaments including Stanford and DSD1. Adonay specializes in K debate along with traditional and lay formats.

Aaron Tian hosted a Casing Lecture on March 30th at 6 PM CST.
Aaron is a junior at Thomas Wootton High School in Maryland. He is the captain for his school’s debate team and has been debating for the last six years on the national and local circuit. Aaron has been ranked as high as the top 3 teams in the country by championing the NOVA Round Robin, Lexington, Grapevine, Peach State and John Lewis, semifinaling Harvard (2x), Penn, and the Harvard Round Robin. Overall, Aaron has accumulated 15 bids to the Tournament of Champions and multiple top ten speaker awards. Aaron currently serves as Outreach Debate’s Maryland Branch Director and will be serving as Camp Director at Outreach Debate’s Summer Camp, where he is excited to make debate accessible to all on the local and international level. Outside of debate, Aaron enjoys listening to music, playing volleyball, and hanging out with friends!

Michi Synn hosted an April Topic Analysis Lecture on March 31st at 6 PM PST.
Michi Synn is a senior at Canyon Crest Academy in California, where she has been debating for the last four years on the national and local circuit. Michi has accumulated 23 bids to the Tournament of Champions, championing UNLV and the California Round Robin on the way, and was the 2024-25 individual season bid leader. Additionally, Michi has accumulated nearly a dozen top ten speaker awards. Michi previously served as an Outreach Camp Instructor and Director, where she had the opportunity to work with hundreds of international students. Michi is excited to give this topic lecture!

Sudeep Vattikutti hosted a Lay Debate Lecture on April 6th at 6 PM EST.
Sudeep is a senior at BASIS Peoria in Arizona. Sudeep accumulated 16 bids to the TOC, championing Yale, TOC Digital Speech & Debate Series 2, ASU, CSU Fullerton, and Milliard North, on his way to a peak national rating of #2. At Outreach Debate, Sudeep serves as the Outreach Debate Director of Resources, where he leads our team of Resource Directors in creating accessible resources for the Speech & Debate community. Outside of Speech & Debate, Sudeep enjoys playing basketball with friends, listening to music (French Artists have become my favorite), and trying out new Boba flavors. Sudeep has a significant amount of experience with lay debate, and is excited to give this lecture!

Dessie Yang hosted a Non-T Fem Lecture on April 6th at 8 PM EST.
Dessie is a senior at Bergen Tech, where she has debated for two years. Dessie has accumulated 5 bids to the Tournament of Champions, qualifying twice, quarterfinaling Harvard and the National Speech & Debate Season Opener and reaching deep elimination rounds at multiple national circuit tournament. Additionally, Dessie has been invited to compete at the Harvard Round Robin and currently serves as the Bergen Tech Captain. Dessie has had ample experience with Non-T Fem in her career and is excited to give this lecture!

Luke Zhong and Andrew Li hosted a Disclose All Evidence Theory Lecture on April 13th at 6 PM CST.
Luke and Andrew are juniors at the Germantown Friends School in Pennsylvania. Together, they have been ranked as high as third in the world, championing the University of Pennsylvania Invitational and the Harvard Round Robin on the way. Additionally, they played an instrumental role in founding their team’s program their freshman year. At Outreach Debate, Luke currently serves as the Branch Director for Pennsylvania, where he presides over local growth. On the circuit, Luke and Andrew were the first team to spread the norm of disclosing evidence read in all speeches and are very excited to help others understand each part of the theory and how to respond!

Spencer Carman hosted an Introduction to K Debate Lecture on May 18th at 7 PM CST.
Spencer has debated for two years at Arlington High School in Massachusetts. He qualified for the Gold Tournament of Champions, NCFL Nationals, and NSDA Nationals, finishing the 2024–2025 season ranked in the top 10 of the National Debate Coaches Association rankings. His notable accomplishments include reaching finals at TOC Digital Speech & Debate Series 2, reaching the Octofinals round at the Gold TOC and Massachusetts State Tournament, and placing in the top 10 at NSDA Nationals in Big Questions Debate. Spencer also founded and led his middle school’s debate program, where he taught students essential debate and public speaking skills. For the past year, he has also taught at Lumos Debate. Spencer is excited to give this lecture for Outreach Debate!
